It looks like the Ookla speedtest app is somehow bypassing the Instant Guard VPN ! When I use another speed test app (e.g. Use the Speedtest mobile apps to test on your smartphone (iOS, (Opens in a new window) Android (Opens in a new window)) which includes an integrated VPN option that costs 4.99 per month. Ookla works directly with device and chipset manufacturers to ensure compatibility with the latest network technologies. Native Speedtest integration utilizes Ookla’s industry-standard test methodology and global Speedtest Server Network. When I connect to a friend's higher speed WiFi network (400Mbps plan) and connect to my home router via Instant Guard app, the speedtest is actually showing the speed on my friend's network (i.e. Accurately test the gigabit-and-beyond speeds of a 5G network connection. Having said that I do not expect Ookla speedtest on my android phone (Samsung Galaxy) to exceed this allowed bandwidth when connected to a higher speed network.
I have enabled Instant Guard VPN on my GT-AX11000. Wondering if any of you have seen this too.
